Recently, I visited Hong Kong for my birthday trip. I had planned the trip since last year and I chose Hong Kong for some reason.

Since my birthday falls in February, I know that it is going to be in the winter in some places. And being a woman with a cold heart with a hot body myself (lol), I chose Hong Kong because living in a tropical place, I just wanted to take a break from the usual humidity in Jakarta and be in somewhere cold to celebrate my birthday.

Besides, it seems like there are a lot of things to do in Hong Kong from shopping, Disneyland, to even get in touch with nature through hiking Lion Rock!

Mersin Narenciye Festivali

This post is long overdue as I visited Mersin Narcenciye Festivali (English: Mersin Citrus Festival) in 2013. But I suppose it is worth to share as I am quite sure not so many of you have heard about Mersin, let alone the festival.

When it comes to travel in Turkey, people will automatically have Istanbul in mind. That’s for sure, Istanbul is so hard to miss and there are many things to do in Istanbul.

But then to say the least, Turkey has so much more to offer than Istanbul. In my list alone, I am still yet to get around Cappadocia in the hot air balloon, although I’ve been to Denizli to enjoy Pamukkale.

But this time, allow me to promote a city that is usually under the radar: Mersin.

According to Wikipedia, Mersin is a large city and a port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey. This port is an important hub of Turkey’s economy as it has the largest seaport in the country.

Mersin is located in the Asian part of Turkey, which is not so far from Syria by distance. The last time I went there, there were so many Syrian people in the city that I found more people speaking in Arabic than Turkish.

Review: Hotel Boss – Singapore

Frankly speaking, I have this love-and-hate relationship with Singapore.

As an Indonesian, of course everything I see in Singapore somehow looks so sophisticated to the point that sometimes I find myself in disbelief to see how organized everything is in this city state that took only around 1.5 hours flight away from Jakarta.

But as a part of ASEAN ‘Big Brother’, staying in Singapore could be a pain in the ass because honestly, everything is so expensive there!

From the food I bought from the street vendor to the hotel I stayed for layover, everything in Singapore was almost 5 times more expensive than in Jakarta. *sigh*

A Short Getaway to Ciwidey

Originally from Bandung, I feel the need to post something about some place(s) that are worth to see around my hometown. I suppose Bandung itself has been quite known as a city that is visit-worthy in Indonesia.

Being the host of Afro-Asian Conference, Bandung might be historical for some people. But beyond that, Bandung is also popular for its beautiful nature and delicious dishes. Spiced up with the beauty of Sundanese people, it is only understandable that back in Dutch colonial, this city is called ‘Parijs van Java’ or so to speak, Paris in Java Island.

But then again, the classic of being a local is that I rarely get a chance to explore my own town.

So in one fine, sunny day, my friend Irma and I decided to go to Ciwidey as both tourist and local. If we usually go around the town by driving, then this time we chose public transportation to get to Ciwidey with two main destinations: Ranca Upas and Kawah Putih.

That’s what I’ve done in Ho Chi Minh City. And it was a blast!

I decided to give the online dating site a try when I landed in Hanoi for some reason: love can be found anytime and anywhere. If the online dating site is the answer, then be it.
