So, after we covered Cusco in Peru last week, this week’s What You Could Get In The City For $10 will stay at the Americas, although this time we’re going back to the USA.
In the series, we’ve covered some cities in America like New York and Savannah, and this time we’re gonna cover an attractive city, that one that, surprisingly, people rarely talk about: Washington D.C.
I mean, yeah… We all know that Washington D.C is actually the capital city of the USA, but how many of you do have this city on the top of your bucket list to visit at the states?!
That’s why, I’m so glad that I got connected with Savanna from The Yes Project to cover the city on the series.
Welcome back to our own What You Could Get In The City For $10 series, this time we’re going back to the States to talk about how you could spend $10 in a city that I’m honestly not very familiar with.
When Ruby from A Journey We Love told me that she could cover Savannah, Georgia for the social experiment as she was going there with her husband, I honestly have no idea what it’s there in Savannah.
To be fair, when people might be more familiar with Georgia as one of the 50 states in ‘Murica, I’m actually more familiar with Georgia the country with Tbilisi as their capital city.
I really had no idea about anything in Savannah to the point that I had to google about the city. And apparently, it’s the oldest city in the state of Georgia as it was established in 1733 as well as a strategic port city in the American Revolution and during the American Civil War.
Okay, so my first question for this week is… For those of you who are not American, do you have some particular American dream? It doesn’t have to be the ideal situation where all US citizens have the equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity, it may be your dream of visiting a place in the United States of America. Or maybe deep down, you plan out to even move there to reach your personal goal?
If yes, then my second question would be, if you could move to America, which city would you aim for?!
Not gonna lie, for the people like me who actually grew up outside America and only see it through TV shows and some Hollywood movies, New York City would probably the answer. Thanks to FRIENDS who introduced the Central Perk! 😛
So in this opportunity, I’m excited to introduce you to Kemi from Musings and Adventures, an NYC-based blogger who would share with us what you could get in the Big Apple for $10. Check it out! 😉
If you could go anywhere right now for vacation, where would you go?
I’m sure all of you have your own bucket list. And perhaps, one of the places on your list would be the generic tourist destination like London or Paris. Sure, maybe some other places like New York or Bali? What do you have on your bucket list?
Now, back to your bucket list again… Do you have some places that people seem to attract to, but you’re simply not interested to visit it, at least not today?
Well, that’s what has inspired me to write this post. There are some cities in the world that seem so popular for tourists slash travelers no matter how you tell the difference between the two. But then some just don’t interest me.
At least, I could say not today as whenever I travel, I have to pay everything on my own so maybe costs play a huge role in my opinion. So, what are they?
