There are so many things that are well-know from the city. From the Baltic Sea, the Mariinsky Theatre that hosts opera and ballet, to the famous landmark in the city: The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood.

St. Petersburg: How Would You Spend Your $10 in the Cultural Capital of Russia?
$10 USD is equivalent to 626 Russian Rubles (RUB) there are plenty of things you can do with it in St.Petersburg.
The best way of getting to know a new city and to see the main attractions is to do a tour, in St.Petersbrug you can do a walking tour for a donation which is only $5 USD per person average.
Another great way to discover the city that can be done for about $10 USD is to take a boat tour along the city's rivers and channels. The duration of the tour is an hour and a half, the boat goes past all main city attractions like St.Isaac Cathedral, the Hermitage, Peter and Paul Fortress, Kazan Cathedral, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and more.

Must-Visit Museums in St. Petersburg
St.Petersburg is the cultural capital of Russia. It boasts hundreds of museums and galleries, of course, it's almost impossible to visit even a small part of them but there are some that are not to be missed.
First and definitely a must-visit is the State Hermitage the second largest museum in the world after Louvre. The entrance fee for adults is 600RUB (around $9.5 USD), but students from any country (that have student ID) can go for free.
The Russian State Museum is also a great place for those who want to see more of Russian art, to visit it costs 500RUB (around $8 USD). There are more museums and galleries where the entrance fee is under 10US$, basically most of the places in St.Petersburg.

Catherin Palace and Park
Out of many things to do in the city visiting one of the royal suburbs is a must.
With $10 USD, you can do a day trip to Pushkin to see the famous Catherin Palace and Park. Unfortunately, it won't be enough to go inside the palace, although it is just enough to get there and back from the city to pay the park entrance fee and even have lunch.
If that's the case, you will spend 180 RUB (around $3 USD) for transport both ways, and the entrance fee to the park for only 120 RUB (around $2 USD). If you want to grab some meals in one of the local cafés, that would cost you around 200 RUB (around $3 USD). In total, you'll spend around 500 RUB (around $8 USD) for the day trip to Catherin Park.

Another attraction that you shouldn't miss in St. Petersburg is the city metro. Some of the stations look more like palaces, and a great thing about it is you pay only once for 45 RUB (around $0.7 cents), and you can commute around the city for as far as you want until you exit the station.
You can visit all of the most beautiful stations, including Admiralteiskaya that is known as the third deepest station in the world.

Not many tourists know that there is a place in St. Petersburg where you can travel around Russia in a couple of hours.
The Grand Maket Rossiya, a huge interactive layout of Russia that represents different regions, main cities, historical places and natural attractions – a very interesting and unique place to come. The entrance fee to get here is 540 USD (around $8.5 USD).
Meals and Accommodation in St. Petersburg
Accommodation, especially hostels, in St.Petersburg is very cheap compared to the other European cities, you can find a hostel with a good rating in the city center for around 450 to 500 RUB (around $7-8 USD). With what's left from your $10 USD, you can have a nice breakfast with pancakes and coffee.
As for dining, there are many places in the center of St.Petersburg where you can have a nice lunch/dinner for $10 USD. An average lunch costs between 250 RUB (around $4 USD) and 500 RUB (around $8 USD) depending on what and where you eat.
Dinner is usually more expensive, but you can find places where you can eat for about 600 RUB (around $9.5 USD). You can go out with $10 USD as well, which will be enough for a couple of drinks in a bar or a club.
