Banja Koviljaca is one of the most famous spa towns in Serbia, which I've included on the list of must-visit places in Serbia the other day. Situated at the foothill of Mt. Gucevo, you could enjoy some relaxing and spa time as if you were one of the members of the royal dynasty Karadjordjevic in the early 1900s.
Apart from Banja Koviljaca, there are also a few spa towns in Serbia such as Vrnjacka Banja, Bukovicka Banja, or Niska Banja. However, since I spent a few days traveling around Loznica and I stayed at the accommodation located in Banja Koviljaca, this time I'm going to write a review about my experience of staying at Apartmani Vasic when I was there.
Located at Marsala Tita, there are plenty of accommodations in the area around Banja Koviljaca. Marsala Tita itself is the main road that connects West Serbia with Bosnia, making it a great addition for your Balkan trip itinerary. As the town is closer to Tuzla in Bosnia, it is also a great spot to stop if you travel from any cities in Bosnia like Sarajevo to Belgrade. So, how was my stay at Apartmani Vasic when I booked it as accommodation during my stay in Banja Koviljaca?
How to Get to Banja Koviljaca
Banja Koviljaca is a spa town located in the city of Loznica, and you can reach it from Belgrade in around 2 hours by car. I've learned the hard way that the most convenient way to travel in Serbia is by renting a car or hiring a driver.
But, it isn't impossible to commute from Belgrade to Banja Koviljaca, as you can also buy a bus ticket from Belgrade to Loznica and take a taxi to get to Banja Koviljaca. From Belgrade to Loznica, I used Raketa AB bus, which seems to be the best bus company in Serbia.
From the bus station in Loznica, it took around 15-minute drive to Marsala Tita. Although I spent a little more time to find the address of Apartmani Vasic since it seems like the direction listed on Google Map wasn't correct.
So, this is exactly why I'm writing a special post for Apartmani Vasic so you won't have a hard time when you book accommodation on the property! 😉
Apartmani Vasic in Banja Koviljaca
So, I know that Booking.com seems to be more popular around Europe, but since I'm a platinum member of Agoda, I decided to just book my accommodation in Loznica on the platform. To be fair, after my experience of staying at the Dorm Cave by Travellers in Cappadocia, I was a bit cynical about booking accommodation in Serbia through Agoda. And I gotta say, I was right.
The downside of using Agoda to book accommodation is that their customer service is horrible. You have no access to contact your accommodation directly, unless they reach out to you first via app. I know this, because the latter happened to me with Cavit Duvan Prestige Hotel in Edirne when they reached out after I completed my booking.
The Night Rate & Check-In Process at Apartmani Vasic
I chose to book Apartmani Vasic as their night rate was super affordable. I booked my stay for 3 (three) nights there, and I paid for 4,000 dinar in cash by the time I arrived at the property. It seems that they only accept cash for the payment method for the booking made through Agoda.
While it was okay, it was a bit confusing when it comes to conversion rate as I used Euro when I made my booking so I wasn't sure whether I should prepare Euro or dinar to make payment when I get there. Especially since on Agoda, the total amount written was 40.20 Euro and there's no way I had 20 cents to pay in cash.
So my suggestion if you decide to use Agoda to book your stay at Apartmani Vasic, you can change the currency into RSD (Republic of Serbia dinari) first to avoid any inconvenience when you have to pay for your stay.
And speaking of the inconvenience to book through Agoda, you'll be doomed if you try to find the address without speaking any Serbian. I tried to follow Google Map first, but it directed me to a wrong address. It was also accommodation in Banja Koviljaca, but not Apartmani Vasic. I ended up getting a lot of business cards for the accommodations to stay in Banja Koviljaca while trying to find the address.
Luckily, the people there seem to know each other so it was relatively easy for me to find the right address. Especially since there was a guy who already waited for my arrival there. Once I met this guy (I can't remember his name, I'm sorry!), the check-in process was relatively quick and easy.
So, in case you're planning to book your stay at Apartmani Vasic, here's the complete address and a number you can contact in case you get lost around Banja Koviljaca!

The Room at Apartmani Vasic
First of all, I totally forgot to take a picture of the building! #rookiemistake
However, the accommodations in Banja Koviljaca seem quite similar to one and the others. Most of them have house-like buildings, so don't expect any skyscraper hotels for accommodation in this spa town. The same goes for Apartmani Vasic.
It's a 3-story building with a couple of rooms to rent on each floor. The main door seems to be open 24/7, but I could be wrong since I never really got back late to prove it. But I definitely only got the key to my room, and not the key to the main door so I would assume that it's open all the time.
I'm not sure if they have a variety of room types, but my room at Apartmani Vasic was nice! It was so good that I feel like compared to the night rate, it was super affordable!
The property that I booked for my stay in Banja Koviljaca comes with a bedroom with a queen bed, a wardrobe, and a TV. It also has a living room with a sofa bed, making it suitable to book if you decide to travel with your family. There's also a TV in the living room.
On top of that, the room also comes with a kitchenette with a small dining table. There's also a fridge in case you want to buy something to drink and serve it cold while chilling in your room. As I stayed there during winter, the heater on the property also worked well so it's a double win for me to stay at Apartmani Vasic during my trip to Banja Koviljaca!

Final Verdict: Staying at Apartmani Vasic in Banja Koviljaca, Serbia
I definitely had a pleasant stay at Apartmani Vasic in Banja Koviljaca! The hospitality there is top-notch, and the facilities provided, including the kitchenette, heater and wifi connection in the room, also worked properly.
The property is suitable for a family, and it's really close to the famous Kursalon and Kovilje Wellness Center. Apartmani Vasic is only around a 5-minute drive to the spa compound, and it's walking distance if you're up for a walk!
(+)
- Affordable night rate. The total amount I paid for my 3-night stay was 4000 dinar, which made it approximately 1,333 dinar (around $12 USD) per night.
- The staff at Apartmani Vasic was super friendly, although they speak a little English.
- All the facilities worked properly, making it a pleasant accommodation to stay in Banja Koviljaca!
- Their parking space is enough for up to 2 (two) cars, so it's also suitable if you're planning to go there with a car.
(-)
- If you book through Agoda like I did, it would be difficult to contact the property directly. But you can contact them via Viber/Whatsapp via the phone number I wrote here since I took it from their business card.
- Since I booked it through Agoda, it was a bit hard to convert the rate when I had to pay my stay in cash. Make sure to set your payment into RSD to avoid losing money from the conversion rate.
Overall, I think Apartmani Vasic is an excellent place to consider if you're looking for accommodation to stay in Banja Koviljaca or Loznica. I probably missed it, but I don't think I saw any hotel in Loznica city center, so Apartmani Vasic can be an alternative place to stay if you stop by Loznica on your way to Bosnia, or vice versa.
Do you have any additional tips to share when you stop by Banja Koviljaca? Or have you stayed in another accommodation around the spa town? Share in the comment below, and cheerio! 🙂
