For those of you who love an adrenaline rush or those who want to reconnect with their inner child, make sure you add one of these parks to your itinerary when travelling in Europe.

There are many different amusement parks all over the continent and they are suitable for all the family, little ones and big kids alike!

Whether it’s the thrill of a roller coaster or the sudden splash of a water ride you prefer, Europe really has a lot to offer. There are also theme parks with whimsical characters, shows and parades. It was difficult to narrow it down to a top ten, but here you go.

1. Disneyland Paris, France

Without a doubt, the iconic castle, the movie based attractions and spectacular parades, Disneyland Paris is a must.

See your favorite characters Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto along with new additions such as Anna and Elsa from Frozen and Olaf the snowman.

2. Portaventura, Spain

Located on the Costa Dorada, Spain, Portaventura offers a fun mix of fast rides, water park and themed attractions making it a perfect addition to your summer holiday.

Why not stay off the beach for a day and get in touch with your inner child?

3. Europapark, Germany

Europapark is the largest theme park in Germany, and the proud home of not only thirteen roller coasters, but also the host of the Euro Dance Festival. 

4. Alton Towers, UK

A fantastic host to over ten large roller coasters and other themed attractions.

Located in Staffordshire, England, Alton Towers is a great day out, but due to weather restrictions only open mid-March to November.

5. Energylandia, Poland

Located 50km from Krakow, energylandia, a fairly recent addition as it opened in 2014, boasts new and modern rides and attractions, such as the steel roller coaster Zadra, a Rocky Mountain Construction built from the ground in 2019.

6. Efteling, the Netherlands

Efteling is a fantasy-themed park, and the majority of the attractions are based around myths and fairytales.

7. Gardaland, Italy

Gardaland is located next to the beautiful and luxurious Lake Garda, now a popular spot for celebrity villas.

The park consists of an amusement park, aquarium, and hotel resort.

8. Tivoli Gardens, Denmark

Opened in Copenhagen in 1843, Tivoli Gardens is the second-oldest operating theme park in the world, the oldest also being in Denmark.

9. Futuroscope, France

This theme park has many audio-visual attractions and cinema screens, with certain futuristic shows that are unique in all the world.

10. Parc Asterix, France

France’s second biggest theme park based on the comic books, Asterix, by Albert Uderzo and Rene Goscinny. The park boasts a number of rides and coasters, many with historical themes.
