Self-Quarantine in Vientiane, Laos: (Review) Sengphachanh Hotel 2

I have to admit, I haven’t been very productive in the past few weeks. I’ve got some things going on, and I also got some new clients for my business that I focused more on other things than this blog.

But then I realized that it’s already the middle of December, and I’m still yet to finish my piece on my last Indochina trip. Now that you know how I got sick in Vientiane, it’s time for me to write a review about the hotel where I spent my self-quarantine in Laos’s capital city.

When I was in Pakse, I booked Sengphachanh Hotel 2 in Vientiane as I realized that the hotel offers the lowest rate compared to other hotels with the same facilities in the capital city. Well, just my luck since I got forced to extend my stay longer than I expected due to my sickness earlier this year.

The Diary of a Quarantine Queen: My Daily Activity as a Lazy Yet Productive Lady During the Pandemic

Before you read further, just know that this is not the right post if you’re looking for a recipe. In fact, I got an idea to write this post because I figure there must be someone somewhere who’s pretty much like me during this quarantine period. A person with no talent for cooking or baking who isn’t yet interested in Tiktok either.

But heyyyy, just because I never post what I make in the kitchen or show off my dancing talent through my social media, it doesn’t mean that I’m not productive. If anything, I just told my mom that instead of making a baking content to share on Instagram, I’d rather work so that I can order delicious food online.

If there’s one thing I am thankful for this quarantine, I think it’s my situation. I know some people who got laid off during this difficult period, and I’m glad that I’m currently in the position where I can share a little piece of my fortune to those in need these days.

Anyway, in this post I actually want to share my day-to-day life as a lazy person. I can’t for the love of me remember when was the last time I did my exercise, I even told my cousin and my brother that with my lifestyle, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I’d die from a heart attack.

But if that’s what happens, just know that I don’t regret it because I’m living a happy, productive life.

4 Things to Do During Self-Quarantine (That Are Not Napping or Snacking)

I’ve never thought that I’d be able to write about a topic that I am an expert in. But when I do, it is ironically when there’s a pandemic outbreak like coronavirus. Or what some of you say Covid-19 case.

Now that almost all countries lockdown in their area, those who don’t still recommend people to do self-quarantine in order to prevent the spreading of the virus. I understand some of you might get quite frustrated with the idea of having to isolate yourself from your environment. But guess what?! I shamelessly do this all the time.

I’ve got the privilege to work from home. And when I don’t travel, what we call self-quarantine is basically my lifestyle. I barely meet people because I have all the conversations through e-mail, Slack, or Whatsapp.

Despite the fact I live with my parents, I have the second floor of my parents’ house for me since my sister lives in Jakarta. The only creatures that get in touch with me often are basically just my cats. Some people see it as a miserable thing to happen to someone. I’d say it’s a blessing.

So, in this post, I’ll share with you some things to do during self-quarantine, in case you have no idea what to do during this hard time for everyone. Believe me, self-quarantine is not that hard. The hard thing is those people who still have to go to work to make their ends meet during this time.
