Starlet Hotel Jakarta Airport

Starlet Hotel: A Budget-Friendly Hotel Near Jakarta Airport with Free Shuttle

I wrote about Best Western Premier The Hive the other day, a hotel close to Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta. And today, I’m going to review a hotel near the airport… But this time, it’s the one that’s located not too far from the main airport in the Greater Jakarta area: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, all international flights only take place in Jakarta for both departures and arrivals. So if you’re planning to travel internationally to or from Indonesia, you may need some information about a budget-friendly hotel near Jakarta airport.

Since my flight to Dubai the other day was also from Jakarta, and they required a PCR test to travel there, I decided to stay in Jakarta for a couple of days and sort things out there instead of going directly from Bandung as I usually did. And this time, I chose to stay at Starlet Hotel during my stay before the flight.

Review: Shuttle Service From Bandung to Jakarta Airport with Bhinneka

Review: Shuttle Service From Bandung to Jakarta Airport with Bhinneka

So, after almost two years of not leaving my hometown, I finally made my first trip overseas since the pandemic. Although, if I gotta be honest, I felt like I had to start from square one because things got a little awkward with all the health protocols and all.

When I tried to book a shuttle bus from Bandung to the airport in Jakarta, I was a little lost on where I should book the ticket first as if I had never done it before. Eventually, I made a booking through Traveloka with Bhinneka Shuttle.

It was my first time using Bhinneka Shuttle since I usually used Primajasa or Cititrans for the shuttle bus to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. However, I decided to give it a try since I got a discount on Traveloka and the ticket for Bhinneka Shuttle is the lowest one compared to other shuttle companies.

I paid for only IDR 165,000 (around $11.55 USD) from their pool in Pasteur (which was convenient for me, as it’s close to my home address!) to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Since I already booked a hotel close to the airport and the hotel management told me that they’d pick me up at Terminal 3, I asked the driver to drop me off there.

Indonesia’s 74th Independence Day: Indonesia Beyond Bali, Where to Go and What to See Around the Country

As an Indonesian blogger who mainly writes about travel, I often encountered fellow travel bloggers who would list Bali among the name of countries in Southeast Asia like Malaysia or Singapore. That, my friends, has become my own pet peeve ever since.

Like, seriously… There were times when I feel like I want to question them whether they even notice the name of the country as a whole, and not just Bali.

So, it’s the 17th of August and for those of you who don’t know… It’s the independence day of Indonesia. The 74th as we declared our independence in 1945.

And for today’s post, I’ve teamed up with some fellow bloggers who knew better than THAT, we’re gonna talk about the places that are worth visiting in Indonesia. The places that are NOT just Bali. The places that would show you the diversity in the country, more than just a tiny island called Bali. 😉

Review: Staycation at Best Western Premier The Hive, East Jakarta

Last month, I got the bad news about one of my friends getting terribly ill in Bogor. He was one of my ex-colleagues from the first airlines where I worked professionally. For that reason, my former colleagues and I arranged a surprise visit to his place on the 12th of this month.

The universe conspired as I got the invitation from Best Western Premier The Hive in East Jakarta to have a staycation the day before I got scheduled to go to Bogor. It was actually a perfect time, since I’m personally more familiar to get to Bogor from Jakarta instead of going there directly from Bandung.

So in this post, I’m gonna share with you the review of my staycation there. If some of you are currently planning to stop by Jakarta for a visit, you might as well want to take Best Western Premier The Hive for consideration to stay.
