Cousins’ Short Getaway to Garut, West Java

Earlier this week, my cousins and I had a short getaway to Garut, a small town located around 1.5 hours from Bandung, my hometown.

There's a saying that cousins are the very first friends we make, and they're the only friends guaranteed to be there for the rest of our lives. Well, in my case, I've got Heri, the cousin that is closest to me as we practically grew up together.

Even nowadays when he lives at my parents' house, I often joke that he will be the second in line when somebody need to dig my graveyard right after my brother. Yeah, my joke is that dark but well…

It was a real bummer that just a day before the day we planned out the trip to Garut, my cat has gone missing. I got mental breakdown but then the show must go on so I still went for the trip anyway.

Travel Fashionably From Head To Toe Around South East Asia

In case you're not familiar with my traveling style, my traveling style is something in-between a budget traveler and not-so luxurious one.

I mean, I'm totally fine with the idea of staying at a cheap motel with a small room as long as I could get a quality time through doing my makeup without any disruption. I'm not exactly the kind of person who would ask for a pic anytime I see a good stop for the ‘gram, but clothes and makeup are the essential things for me to travel comfortably.

I'm not exactly fashionable, as I'm kind of a sucker when it comes to the idea of mix and match things I've got in my clothes. However, I'm not exactly a t-shirt and jeans kind of person either.

So, if you could relate to the situation and you're planning to travel around South East Asia, let me share with you the tips and trick on how to travel fashionably in this part of the world! 😉

Stone Garden GeoPark: The Merge of Machu Picchu and Capadoccia in Bandung, Indonesia

I don't know about you, but I'm kind of a sucky traveler when it comes to my hometown.

Like, I could tell you where to get the best midiye dolma in Izmir, but I gotta think hard if you asked me about the best place to go shopping or the best coffee shop in Bandung. And I wouldn't guarantee that I could eventually find the answer. 😛

The thing is, despite the fact that I've spent 20++ years in Bandung, I rarely have time to explore the city for the sake of being local. I mean, you probably know by now that I'm not exactly a cafe-hopper, and more often than not… I always get too lazy to go out as I only imagine the possibilities to face the traffic jam. Especially during the weekend!

I mean, seriously… As a passenger, I just don't want to spend extra money for cabs. As a driver, I just can't hold on to my dear life to drive in the bad traffic. And I've been living like a spoiled brat long enough in my life to not consider the other options of public transportations.

So on this post, I would like to share a hidden gem in Bandung that I have visited for the first time a few weeks ago. Located in the west part of Bandung, Stone Garden Geo Park could be reached more than 2 hours from Bandung city center by car with traffic jam.

The good thing is that you could also reach this off-beaten spot in Bandung by train. And that's what I did when I visited the place. 😉

How To Travel Smart in ASEAN Countries

As you know, it's pretty rare to find me writing a post with such a short title like this, but here I am. This time, I want to share some tips about how to travel smart in ASEAN countries because, who's a better person to tell you if not me, someone who's a part of the tribes?

And for those who are not familiar with ASEAN, then let me tell you a piece of my knowledge. ASEAN stands for the Association of South East Asian Nation, an intergovernmental organization in this part of the world. And no matter how our people say otherwise, we're pretty much similar from one and another.

I mean, if we're so different, then why the heck people looked at me as if I was a trashy Filipino who could barely speak Tagalog in Manila?

6 Popular Tourist Destinations That I Am Not (Yet) Interested To Visit

If you could go anywhere right now for vacation, where would you go?

I'm sure all of you have your own bucket list. And perhaps, one of the places on your list would be the generic tourist destination like London or Paris. Sure, maybe some other places like New York or Bali? What do you have on your bucket list?

Now, back to your bucket list again… Do you have some places that people seem to attract to, but you're simply not interested to visit it, at least not today?

Well, that's what has inspired me to write this post. There are some cities in the world that seem so popular for tourists slash travelers no matter how you tell the difference between the two. But then some just don't interest me.

At least, I could say not today as whenever I travel, I have to pay everything on my own so maybe costs play a huge role in my opinion. So, what are they?
