What I’ve Learned from Long-Distance Relationship: Things that Work and Things that Don’t

I’m not saying I’m an expert at long-distance relationships, but I was in a few relationships where I had to be apart from my (now ex) boyfriend. It’s like, I knew that long-distance relationships would be hard, but damn I fell for the guys who live a thousand miles over and over again.

In my last relationship, we had to do long-distance since my ex is doing his PhD in the Netherlands. A few years before then, I was also in a relationship with someone who lived in Istanbul when I was based in Jeddah.

I know too well it’s challenging, it’s just that… When you know, you know the right person for you. It doesn’t really matter if you end up to be with them forever or they’re just there for lessons.

What To Expect on Online Dating Sites Before You Finally Find ‘The One’

So, in case you don’t know, I’m currently dating someone. Despite the fact that I’m not sure whether he’s ‘the one’ or whatever you call it when it comes to your better half or whatever, I’m in the mood to write the good ol’ time playing on the dating games. 😛

First of all, I’ve met my boyfriend through an online dating site. It happened so fast, just a few days after I decided to cut off the talk with someone with whom I had a situationship for a few months. But long story short, we agree to give the relationship a try. To see if we could handle each other, leading to something more serious like marriage in the future.

I know, it sounds freaking terrifying, but then again… I think I’ve had enough to play around on the dating games. I’m tired of it, especially now that I think I’ve seen enough from online dating sites.

To be honest with you, it’s insanely difficult to find ‘the one’ through online dating sites. It’s like either you enjoy the journey, or choose the conventional way to date. And guess what? I was the first before finally trying to take an effort dating my current boyfriend now.

And here, I want to share with you what to expect on online dating sites as it’s really not as romantic as you think it is. Well, obviously.

What I’ve Learned About Sex From Being Once a Serial Dater

Back when I was younger and naive, I thought I’d be the kind of person who’d stay pure until my wedding day. Fast forward to today, let’s all laugh together. I’ve seen some shit, I know some things, and clearly, I don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks of me. Especially when it comes to the history of me being promiscuous.

But do I regret it? To be honest with you, nope… In fact, I’m glad that I’ve seen stuff to the point I have my lessons learned. And of course, sex is one of them.

How To Cut Off Your Friend With Benefits (Without Any Hard Feeling)

I’ve been quite productive lately to the point that I feel like I’ve got a lot of things to write. Yeah, despite the fact that I haven’t completed my post for Borneo trip series. That, until I realized that it’s been a while since I wrote some rants on dating topic.

So, here’s the thing… One of the posts with the highest rank on Google is the one about fuck buddies. I’m not exactly proud of my accomplishment in this case, but now I realized what kind of post that triggers my potential out there. And for exactly the same reason, this time I’ll talk again about fuck buddies. Or friend with benefits, if you prefer.

Well, you might as well come with a new vocabulary as in flirtationship. But whatever, this time I’m going to share with you some tips on how to cut them off. And for the love of God, how to do it without any hard feeling.

Which could be hard, given the fact that sometimes you catch feeling somewhere. But anyway…

Please Stay Single If You Can’t Be Open and Honest to Your Partner!

If there’s an event in my life that I wish I could just skip, I suppose that would be the part when I got cheated on. Back when I was in high school. Funny how it’s been years since it happened, yet I still find it hard to forget the feeling of getting betrayed by the person I trusted back in the days.

Fast forward to today, I’m 30 and not as naive as my 15-year-old self. These days, I often think that monogamy is overrated. But still, I think cheating is still unforgivable.

After all, I still think that an ugly truth is still way better than a beautiful lie.
