Island Hopping in Sabah: Manukan Island from Kota Kinabalu (Jesselton Point)

As much as I wanted to go to explore Mount Kinabalu, I had to skip it as it turned out to be so expensive. I only spared 3 days in Kota Kinabalu, and I tried to make the most out of it to explore the city itself. One of the dos in the city, through some research prior to my departure, is island hopping to some islands that I could do from Kota Kinabalu.

At first, I was considering to book a tour for the activity. Lucky for me, I met a fellow traveler Yukyeong in Brunei. She told me that she was in Kota Kinabalu a few months before she came to Brunei. And she suggested me to just book the tour go-show from Jesselton Point.

During her trip, she booked the tour online and she found out that the price was much cheaper around Jesselton Point. She also told me that one of the popular islands to go from Kota Kinabalu is Manukan Island, the island that she stopped by in her last travel too.

Review: Jesselton Express (Subsidiary of Sipitang Express), A Public Bus from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu

Slowly but sure, the story of my Borneo trip will come to an end now that I’m gonna talk about how to get to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah from Brunei.

There are a few options that you could choose if you’re planning to travel within the route. Apart from the fastest way through a flight, you could also opt for either by bus or by ferry. For my Borneo trip, I chose the public bus as the way of my travel. Although to be honest, if I could go back to Borneo, I’d totally go for the ferry option just for the sake of experience.

As usual, I rely on Easybook for all the reservations for my transport during the trip. And this time, I chose the one and only option for Brunei-Kota Kinabalu trip by bus: Sipitang Express.

So, why did I end up using Jesselton Express instead of Sipitang in the title of this post? Well, this one will be explained later. Keep calm, and carry on. 😉

12 Couple Travelers Who Spark Joy To Your Traveling Plan With Your Partner

Happy Valentine’s Day, folks! 😀

If I usually spent Valentine’s day alone, being single and miserable, then this year it’s different. Well, technically I’m not single but then again I’d still spend my Valentine’s day alone since my boyfriend is in Singapore.

But then again, let me throw some mushy stuff to you in case you feel miserable just because you’re far away from your partner on this Valentine’s day: 14 February doesn’t really matter when you’re with the right partner. Why? Because you don’t need a special day to celebrate love. You could always celebrate love everyday. Or hate, for that matter. 😛

I mean, we agree that as much as you love your partner, there is some stuff about them that makes you want to rip their neck sometimes.

Anyway, since I’ve just jumped into the bandwagon to plan out a vacation with my boyfriend… I’m checking out some other couple travelers to get some inspo about traveling with my partner. And I decided to list the 12 of my favorites on the day of love. Yeay!
