Recently, perhaps like you also did, I came across the video of Nas Daily about the women tax as his girlfriend lost her makeup bag. If you were into makeup, you'd probably be thankful that it didn't happen to you. We all know how expensive even just a lipstick could get nowadays.
Well, I love makeup as much as everyone else, but I don't exactly spend hundreds of dollar on makeup. At least not just in a month.
I rarely use high-end beauty products not just because I'm broke, some products that I tried in the past was slightly disappointing when really it kinda broke my bank when I bought it. I've learned it the hard way, so nowadays I'm trying to stick on a budget when it comes to beauty products that I use.
Is It Difficult to Keep on a Budget for Your Beauty Products?
Yes and no. After all, every beauty product on the market has their own target audience. It really depends on you as you know the best about what you need for your skin, as well as how much money you could spend on the products.
As for me, I am super hesitant when it comes to purchasing the high-end products, because it's too expensive for me. I asked my friend how much the MAC Ruby lipstick costs, and I simply wouldn't bother to spend that much for just a freaking lipstick.
Especially when no matter how much money I spend on a lipstick and no matter how longlasting the lipstick is according to people or beauty bloggers, it simply would fade for the sake of how I eat. ๐
What I do to avoid overspending when it comes to my beauty product though, I rarely try on new skincare products. I mean, I know some people who would try the new facial foam for the sake of its hype only to change it into the next one everytime.
See, I'm not that kind of person. That way, it's quite easy for me to keep on a budget as I know how much money I will have to spend for a skincare set. And the first thing you could do to do it is to find your holy grail. So, how do I do it?
How Do I Keep on a Budget for My Beauty Products?
I tried some products that don't work well on me. And whenever something caused a bad reaction when I wear it, I will stop using it. And that's exactly why I never buy anything that costs more than $30 USD for skincare or makeup.
That amount of money in my currency means a lot, and there's no way I want to spend it on the wrong skincare just because it's a high-end product that everyone tells you to try. Hmm.

1. Find Your Holy Grail
Seriously, the only reason why I constantly spend the same amount of money when it comes to beauty products is that I rarely buy new stuff that may go wasted in the end.
It was only recently when I decided to try changing my skincare set slowly but sure because I'm trying to get on the organic products that will be safe. I figure, maybe I should invest with natural skincare so that if one day I get pregnant or something, I don't have to change my beauty routines all at once.
Once you know the product works well on you and your skin, then try to stick with it for a while. At least, try to commit yourself to finish one tube of product that works okay on you. Once it's finished, it's up to you whether you want to use the same thing or move on to the next one. ๐
2. Give The Local Products A Chance
I would seriously encourage you to at least give the local beauty products a chance. Not only is it usually more affordable compared to the high-end products, but also sometimes you find a lot of good things on the market.
This is the exact reason why I created Around The World With The Beauties series. I want to know more about local beauty products in other countries so I can take the chance to try it on if one day I get a chance to pass by.
I mean, it won't be too expensive, and if it works, it's gonna be a gem for you too. ๐

3. Purchase The High-End Products When They're On Sale
Take a look at the flash sale on Amazon or some other e-commerce to get the best deals when you buy the high-end products. Sometimes you don't have to hold yourself to buy something expensive that you want, sometimes you just have to spend your money wisely.
Think of it as an investment, but the profit comes in the form of a few dollars cashback or some free shipping. ๐
Or if you're not too paranoid when it comes to using some used foundation or lipstick, then make it an alternative for you to try on some high-end products. Better to purchase the used one to see if it works with half price rather than have the whole tube only to find out that your skin is sensitive to some particular ingredient.
4. Don't Be Too Shy to Use Coupons
Yes, there comes a time when you understand that using coupons, after all, is not so lame if it gives you some best deals for the things you love. Maybe it's for the makeup, maybe it's for something else.
And even easier these days, since you could find the best deals online. Likeย https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/tags/make-up for some good deals in the beauty section. 15% off could mean everything when you can use it for something else. ๐

So, How Do You Keep Your Beauty on Budget?!
Those are the things that I do to keep on my budget for beauty products. I'm sure some of you have plenty things you've done to save the money spent on makeup and skincare too.
What do you do other than the things that I listed above? Sharing is caring, let me know what you've done so I could probably learn something new that I can do in the future. Leave your comment below and cheerio! ๐
