Penida LaCasa Cottage: A Cozy Place to Stay in Nusa Penida, Bali

I got some kind of writer’s block lately. Not because I had no idea what to write, because I’ve actually got plenty of topics that I want to write on… But rather I was too lazy to sit down and start writing in front of my computer. My back hurts from carrying this dry sense of humor. LOL.

On a serious note though, I also got some other projects that I’ve been working on. I’m transitioning for my VA role, as now I’m more responsible for content creation instead of just managing clients’ social media. But anyway… I’m here now, so forget about work! 😀

I know that the first thing I need to write after this writer’s block passed would be the review of the accommodation where I stayed in Nusa Penida to catch up with my last Bali post. So, if you’re planning to go to the island and considering some options for the accommodation, I’ll share my experience staying at Penida LaCasa Cottage in Nusa Penida on this post.

The Alea Hotel Seminyak: A Cozy and Cheap Hotel in Bali, Indonesia

When I first planned my Bali trip, I really had no idea how Bali is in terms of location. Like, I’ve heard a lot of well-known areas around Bali like Kuta, Ubud, Seminyak, or Canggu. And if there’s anything that I keep in mind when I started planning out my trip, it was to avoid the Kuta area that is somewhat the least recommended these days.

Long story short, since I’ve spent around 2 weeks in Bali, I decided to stay at a few different hotels in various areas around the island.

I heard a lot of good stuff about Canggu from some travel groups I’m in on Facebook. However, a few months before my departure, one of my friends stayed around Canggu area and she wasn’t impressed. She told me that Seminyak seems like a better choice to stay around Bali.

According to some other friend, Seminyak is mostly suitable for young travelers who are keen on some nightlife as well. There are some pubs in the surrounding area, including the famous Mrs. Sippy Bali. Because of this, I then prioritized some hotel options around Seminyak, until I decided to book a room at The Alea Hotel Seminyak.

Hotel vs Airbnb: Why I’d (Most Likely) Choose Hotel over Airbnb for My Accommodation

First of all, I know you might have found a lot of similar posts about this topic on the internet. Well, that won’t stop me from writing this post anyway.

There’s some mixed opinion about which one is better for accommodation. I know some of my friends who would strongly recommend Airbnb for a lot of reasons. Some even make their side income as the landlord to rent their property through the platform.

I know some other people who would still go for the conventional way to book a hotel room. Their reasons could vary, from being blatantly skeptical about staying at some random stranger’s property to just take the easy way in terms of choosing an accommodation.

As for me, despite the fact that I’ve got a lot of friends who have recommended Airbnb since a few years back, my first Airbnb experience wasn’t quite long ago. It was during my stay in Brunei sometime last year. After that, I also got a couple more Airbnb experience that led me to write this one.

And as you probably expect from the title of the post itself, I’d personally choose a hotel over Airbnb. Why? This is why I’m writing this post! 🙂

Review: Savoy Homann Hotel, Staycation at One of the Most Legendary Hotels in Bandung

A few weeks ago during Ramadhan, I decided to book a room at one of the most legendary hotels in Bandung: Savoy Homann. I actually had a plan to have a staycation at the hotel since quite some time, but it never really happened until recently.

I thought it was a perfect time to have a staycation during Ramadhan for a few reasons. First of all, I could stroll around my own hometown as if I were a tourist. Also, since the location is close to the Grand Mosque of Bandung, I could also take my mom for the staycation so that she could go pray Taraweeh at night.

For that reason, I thought it was a good idea to just book a room for a night. And I did.

I’ve always wanted to get some experience staying at Savoy Homann Hotel because of the history behind it. If you’re a history junkie, then you’re probably familiar with the connection between the hotel and the Bandung Conference in 1955. It was the first large-scale Asian-African Conference at the time.

You might have never heard of it at your history class. However, if you come from one of the countries in either Asia or Africa… You’ve probably recalled it somewhere at the subject. This hotel is where some notable figures like Soekarno or Jawaharlal Nehru stayed during the conference.

But what if I tell you that the hotel is more than you thought it was?!

(Review) Yomi Hotel: Where to Stay in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

I can’t believe that the series of my Borneo trip will come to an end in a few minutes. And this post, in particular, is going to be the last post that I’m going to write, covering the places I’ve been in Borneo.

Now that I’ve shared with you what I did during my stay in Kota Kinabalu, it’s time for me to share my view on the accommodation I booked for the trip. By far, the best accommodation where I stayed throughout Borneo would be The Room in Miri. So, what’s my view of the hotel where I stayed during my stop in Sabah?

Well, I chose Yomi Hotel for this trip. Apart from the affordable night rate, the fact that they provide breakfasts for the guest is also my main consideration before finally booking the accommodation.

So, how did I find Yomi Hotel in Kota Kinabalu?
