Some Tools and Resources I’ve Been Using to Work From Home

Recently, I made a poll about whether I should write about my everyday life or tools and resources I’ve been using to work from home… The latter got 69% vote, and I swear the number wasn’t like that on purpose. LOL.

Because of this, I’ve compiled a list of tools and platforms that are helpful for me since the first day of my work-from-home journey. Mind you, some of the platforms I’ve been using might also be the regular thing in your everyday life. But then again, maybe you didn’t know how to leverage it into a few bucks for some extra cash.

So I guess this post is here. Just a heads up though, I’m not so good at making a tutorial like a career coach or whatever. But I suppose I’m not so bad at explaining things for dummies. If you’re here, then I hope you’re a dummy that is looking forward to your betterment in some way. And moreover, hope this would help you too… Here we go!

Work From Home Jobs: How to Start and What You Can Do to Get Some Online Gigs

Recently, out of sudden some of my old friends reached out through Whatsapp and DM across social media to ask me how to start if they also want to work from home. I’m not saying that I’m an expert, but I was happy to give some insights about it. Things that I’ve done that worked, and how they could apply to their daily activity in order to get some remote jobs.

While some were excited to start the journey on their own, I got one of my friends responding with that annoying phrase: “Wow, that sounds like a lot of work.”

I was really hoping to just slap him on his face to get his reality checked. I mean, some people gotta work. And yes, sometimes we need to work hard so that people will see us living in comfort.

It annoyed me so much, but then it gave me some ideas to just compile it in a post to talk about how to start if you want to start working from home, and things you can do to get some gigs online. Here we go!

5 Lessons About Work That I’ve Learned in the Past 10 Years as a Professional

Career talk, people!

I’m in the mood to talk about work today, because finally after 10 years of working different jobs, getting frustrated because of the job or the boss, I finally got to the point where I think I’m quite content with what I do.

Yup, it took me 10 freaking years to get to this place. To the place where I’m happy with what I do. The place where I complain less. The place where I think I’ve finally found the purpose of my life. The purpose of the skills that I could confidently offer.

Yes, 10 years and 8 jobs later.

What I’ve Done to (Look Like I) Get My Shit Together

I’ve been quite hustling lately to the point that I barely have time to write these days. The good news is that at this point, I feel like I’ve finally got my shit together. Not just on the surface, but also in general.

I could pay my bills without having to hustle just so I can get some extra income to buy some other things, and even better that for the first time in my life… I could actually save some money into my account!

For those who don’t know me, that might come off as surprising since I’m always the kind of person who would seem like I get my shit together. Except for some depressing memes that I’ve shared on Facebook. LOL.

Well, I’m sure that there may be some other people who are currently struggling like I did and wonder how to get your shit together. Because apparently, life is a bitch when you’re not rich. And no, I’m not gonna glorify what’s so-called hard work which I feel I’m entitled to. It’s so much more than just working my ass off.

Instead, I’m here to tell you the honest story about how to get where I am today after a series of frustration, being broke while trying to keep it together so I don’t have to sell my own kidney or even start looking for a sugar daddy.

And nah, I’m not trying to create a motivational post. I’m trying to write something raw as a flashback to my past.

The Art of Working From Home: Pros and Cons Before You Consider Leaving Your Office Job (and Everything Else)

I’ve been quite busy lately to the point that I didn’t even have time to update anything throughout this weekend. Last weekend, I went out again with Nesia and Jean, my go-to partners when it comes to exploring places around Bandung. After we hit off the road to Stone Garden last year, we decided to go to Ciwidey last week.

Anyway, one issue that came up when we went out is this: my working from home situation.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my current job more than my previous one(s). But then again, not everything in life sparks joy because life isn’t that fair like that. There are times when you have a hard time, sometimes it has something to do with what you do, with whom you have to do it, or even how you do it.

As it is holiday’s seasons for some of my cousins who are still at school, they come to Bandung to spend their holiday here. Long story short, as someone who’s not exactly a big fan of kids, I couldn’t really stand with all the crying or the yelling. Especially not when I have to catch with the deadlines.
