FAQs Answered By a Woman Traveler: Traveling Solo Around Southeast Asia

Hi everyone!

So, in case you didn’t know, I’m finally back to Vietnam after 3 years. It was the first country that I visited as a solo traveler.

And while this time I kinda get used to doing everything alone when I travel, I understand as someone who comes from Southeast Asia region, some people just ask you a lot of questions about your journey.

Some ask questions out of curiosity, some do it because they’re inspired to do it too, while the other one has a little concern about the idea of you traveling alone. And that’s totally fine with me. After all, not everyone has their privilege to experience solo traveling, I guess?

Now that I’m in Chau Doc, I’ve got some spare time to write as I’ll be on my way to Ha Tien tomorrow, and then continue my journey crossing the border to Cambodia the next day.

This time, I’ll share with you some questions frequently asked about traveling solo in Southeast Asia. The questions that I often get asked, especially as a woman traveling alone around the region.

Some Tools and Resources I’ve Been Using to Work From Home

Recently, I made a poll about whether I should write about my everyday life or tools and resources I’ve been using to work from home… The latter got 69% vote, and I swear the number wasn’t like that on purpose. LOL.

Because of this, I’ve compiled a list of tools and platforms that are helpful for me since the first day of my work-from-home journey. Mind you, some of the platforms I’ve been using might also be the regular thing in your everyday life. But then again, maybe you didn’t know how to leverage it into a few bucks for some extra cash.

So I guess this post is here. Just a heads up though, I’m not so good at making a tutorial like a career coach or whatever. But I suppose I’m not so bad at explaining things for dummies. If you’re here, then I hope you’re a dummy that is looking forward to your betterment in some way. And moreover, hope this would help you too… Here we go!

Skrill: Transfer Money Internationally From Indonesia, Hassle-Free!

In case you don’t know yet, not so long after I had a collaboration with Shi Hui for the post on Indonesian guys vs Singaporean guys, who knows that I end up dating the latter to prove the difference on my own?!

Well, if there’s any obvious difference between dating my current boyfriend and the previous ones, it’s actually the transparency about my vulnerability. The financial aspect, no matter how hard it is to admit it, is one of them.

I really want to act like I’m a strong, independent woman. But then there are times when I’m short on cash, especially a couple of months ago when my work was a little slower than usual. Last month, I had to borrow some money from my boyfriend.

If you don’t know me, you may think that shit like that occasionally happens in life. But if you know me personally, I suppose you know how embarrassing it could be for me. But hey, work has been quite busy again lately and I’ve paid back the money he loaned me. And it was my first time transferring money internationally from Indonesia. 🙂

I figured it might be helpful if I could write something about it. And how I’ve found a very helpful platform to help me transferring money overseas from Indonesia, hassle-free. And not just from Indonesia, as Skrill provides international money transfer services from many other countries too.
