Are you still up for more blogs featured on the wander lover series? If yes, then great… Because I actually have more bloggers to cover until earlier next month. Otherwise, well, shame on you. 😛
So, anyway… This week I’m going to cover a new couple bloggers who have named themselves and their blog as Blessed By Travel.
You’ve probably read my piece on the feature for Finding the Universe and Independent Travel Cats, the couple bloggers who have been blogging for relatively a long time. So this time, I’ll show you how even the new (couple) travel bloggers are also worth to check out! 😀
When the 2 As Make a B!
Confused? Well, that’s my job people… I’m here to make you confused everytime! 😛
What are these 2 As and what is this B?
Okay, before anyone gets misunderstood by the riddle, let me introduce you to the 2 As: Aaron and Allyson Spieler. These 2 As are what make the b: the blog. 😛
Not to mention that the blog itself is christened as Blessed By Travel, so voila… I hope you’re not disappointed on the fact that I make everything harder than it’s supposed to be. *lol*
These two are a young couple who met each other for the first time in 2013 when they were teenagers. They went to school together in Pensacola, Florida when Allyson was only 18 and Aaron was 19.
9 months later, they got married. And by the time I read it, I was totally amazed by the fact that they decided something bold like marriage in such a really young age, but at the same time, I’m so happy for them! 🙂
Some of you probably already know by now how corny I could be, but then here’s the truth bomb when I found out about their love story: in the era of people getting so used to this hell called ‘almost relationship’, I’m so glad to meet a couple who are not afraid to show their love to each other through such commitment even though they’re still young.
You know what? This is totally random, but as you know from my previous post on the wander lover series through the Uniqorn, I used to learn German. And I remember that ‘spiel’ in German means ‘to play’. It’s funny how their last name is Spieler, but characteristically they’re not (love) players! 😛
Just like what Shakespeare said, what’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. 😉
The Beginning Of Their (Yet Another) Blessing, Traveling…
As they claim, they are a couple of digital nomads who are aiming to travel full-time, as they are selling all of their belongings to travel the world.
The idea of traveling the world full-time came up exactly a year ago when Allyson, who always thought that she wanted to be a teacher when she grew up, was aiming to go to college for an education degree while shadowing some teachers for a couple of months in Oklahoma City.
That, until the dream she had since she was little simple just didn’t feel right. She prayed about it, and the next thing she knew was just she understood that it’s not where she’s meant to be.
Until on the New Year’s Eve of 2017, Allyson and Aaron had Ruby Tuesdays for dinner together since Aaron still had to work by then. They had the conversation that night, and they started talking about being full-time travelers.
The conversation has become the beginning of everything as they started planning things out to make it happen. From selling everything they’ve got, to planning out whatever they can do to document it. So they created the blog: Blessed By Travel.
They love making videos and editing them, so vlogging would be the content focus on their blog here, as well as some blog posts to tell the story in more details. 😀
Seeing from their blog as they quote some phrase of bible in their profile, I could tell that they’re devout Christian and more or less, that’s how they picked up their blog’s name in the first place. 😀
That Awkward Moment When I Had To Check What Manta Rays Mean…
Okay, so as you all know, English is not my first language. So when I asked Allyson and Aaron what the most memorable traveling experience that they’ve got so far, they told me that it’s when they swam with Manta Rays in Hawaii.
So I was like, what is this manta rays?
And I googled it and I was like, oooooh… ikan pari. For those who don’t know the beauty (and the difficulty) of being a bilingual, this is one of them! 😛
Sometimes you think you’re fluent at something until you actually talk something about it and nah, you’re probably not. 😀
One word that sums up what traveling means to Allyson and Aaron: CULTURE
Besides that, they would also recommend New Zealand for anyone to visit, because according to them, it is absolutely beautiful and they can’t wait to go back.
No kidding, they said that everything there is gorgeous. The mountains, the lakes. Literally everything. And now that I’ve interviewed a few number of travel bloggers, at least 40% of them answered New Zealand as the place that they would recommend to visit.
Now I wonder whether I should save up for Croatia first, or just reroute to the down under. 😛
Anyway, there’s another thing that I start wondering when I uploaded the picture above. Like, why Allyson always stands on the right and Aaron on the left in every picture they sent me? Is the right side the best angle for Allyson in the photograph?
Not being sexist, but I kind know that guys usually don’t even care whether they look good or not in the picture. At least they don’t care as much as we women do. 😛
What’s Next for Blessed By Travel?
Allyson and Aaron have been saving up for over 2 years for their big trip, and they will start with America first, even though I swear I wasn’t trying to get political with the tagline and neither they were. 😀
By America first, I mean, Allyson and Aaron will be visiting all 50 states starting at the end of this year, and then move on to other countries for what they’ve been waiting for: the world tour.
The BeauTraveler on Blessed By Travel
The first time I got to know them was through this instagram pod, so checking out their page has become my routine ever since. 😀
I mainly write to Allyson, and when I checked out their blog, it seems from the two of them, Allyson is also the main writer. They have only published 4 blog posts by the time I write this feature, and all were written by Allyson.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I suppose Allyson is more like a content writer on this blog while Aaron is probably in charge for something more technical like video editing and blog designing. I could be wrong, but maybe I’m right. 😉
Anyway, I particularly love their first post: Do I Hate My Job?
Why? Because it felt so close to home as I once got depressed because of my job too, and I’m not even the 70% American in the stats who are not happy with their job. If there’s 70% of population in the USA who are miserable because of their job, imagine how many percent of population in the world who are in the same situation? 🙁
Back to their blog in general though, I love strolling around their blog, but for some reason I feel like it takes a while for their blog to get fully loaded on my laptop. Not sure whether it has something to do with my laptop (as my laptop is older than my 3-year-old cat) or it’s because of the videos in the blog that makes it a while to get it loaded.
But anyway, I still enjoy their videos when it’s fully loaded. The complete guide to the Muliwai Trail Hike is the one that I like the best. I am not an expert at anything American
except for E! news and anything gossipy, but is it just me or Hawaii is simply so quiet that you barely even see other people around?
At least, I see that everything was serene on the location where Allyson and Aaron took their video in this Muliwai Trail and that’s lovely!
I mean, I
hate people sometimes just want to go some place where it’s quiet enough for you not to see anyone around. And it seems like a perfect place to go when I need it. 🙂
Another question is… After seeing their videos though, is it just me having this kind of Asian complex or Allyson looks slightly like Kristen Stewart? 😛
Anyway, I am looking forward to more and more stories to come from Blessed By Travel. I mean, since I’ve never been to the USA a
nd I haven’t got any plan to visit it anytime soon, it would be great to maybe see how it is from fellow travelers’ point of view, especially if Allyson and Aaron are planning to visit all 50 states.
I know New York and Nebraska could be totally different, but how different could it be? I think I should wait for Blessed By Travel to write more information about it for their readers. Me included. 😉
Okay then, I suppose that’s a wrap for today… Thank you so much for tuning in this post. Safe travel everyone, and see you next week in yet another wander lover series! 😀
